RAHIM YAR KHAN, May 20: A special audit team from Bahawalpur is conducting a scrutiny of about 20,000 accounts of NBP's main branch here after reports of discrepancies.

On the complaint of account holder Azizur Rehman Gopang that millions of rupees were missing from his account, the manager of the bank informed the higher authorities in Bahawalpur.

It is learnt that a bank officer, working in this branch for over a decade, has been missing for the last few days. Another special audit team of the bank is also expected from Karachi in a day or two.

STRIKE: On the call of the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), a complete strike was observed on Thursday throughout the district.

All employees from grade one to 16 of canal, buildings, highways, revenue and agriculture departments gathered in the Canal department from where they marched to the Town Hall. While employees of the Education department assembled outside the DO (Elementary) offices.
