SWABI, May 19: Provincial Minister for Food, Excise and Taxation Fazal Rabbani said on Wednesday that those who were being controlled from Walibagh should be rejected by the local government representatives in the district nazim election on May 22.

He was speaking at a convention organized by the Swabi Independent Group and Al Khidmat Group who are contesting the district nazim election against the ANP and PML-N panel and All Councillors Ittehad candidates. Mr Rabbani said the election on May 22 would be for the development and progress of the country.

He said if the rival panel got elected they would face numerous difficulties in getting development funds from the federal and provincial governments whereas the SIG and AG panel would face no difficulties because in the NWFP they had their own government and in the centre no-one was hostile to them.

The minister stressed that all decisions about projects should be made by the local leadership which was well aware of their problems and could resolve them urgently. MMA MNA Mohammad Usman said they were determined to work according to the demands and wishes of the locals.
