SUKKUR, May 17: Police on Monday obtained an eight-day physical remand of three accused in the murder of two girls, Abida Bhutto and Tehmina Bhutto, killed in a Shikarpur village on the pretext of Karo-kari.

The police first produced accused Haji Nazar, Haji Shafi and Suleman in the anti-terrorism court, Sukkur but judge Riaz Rajput refused to give the remand as the case did not fall under the anti-terrorism law.

He directed the police to obtain remand from the judicial magistrate. Later, the police brought the accused to the judicial magistrate Shikarpur and obtained remand. Six other accused including the main accused Rasheed Bhutto are still at large in the double murder case.

The two girls were killed and buried in a dry fish pond some one kilometre away from Janoo village by their relatives. The news of the killing was leaked to an NGO of Shikarpur who demanded that the culprits should be arrested.

Fazal Bhutto, the brother of Tehmina Bhutto, registered an FIR against Haji Nazar, Haji Shafi, Suleman, Abdul Rasheed, Younus, Jamaluddin, Abdul Karim, Ghulam Sarwar and Sanaullah.

Tehmina and Abida Bhutto had gone to a beauty parlour and after that they went to Sukkur to their relatives who informed their parents in Shikarpur. On this their relatives took the girls back to Janoo Sharif and killed them and buried in a dry fish pond.
