PESHAWAR, May 17: Speakers at a seminar have expressed concern over the poor management of environment and urged the government to take steps for improving it. The seminar on "Environmental Management" was organized by the Abasyn Institute of Management Sciences (Aims) here on Monday.

Mohammad Fayyaz, an expert on environment, said environmental pollution had been playing havoc with the lives of people and urged the government and people to help keep environment clean.

He said the number of diseases could be reduced by ending the environmental pollution. There was a dire need to provide potable water to the people, he said and added that millions of children and adults died of water-related ailments every year.

Mohammad Imranullah, Aims' director, informed that an executive development centre (EDC) had been established at the institute which offered diplomas and certificate courses in environmental management.
