KARACHI, May 16: A young man committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling in Joharabad on Sunday. Police, quoting the victim's family, said that Mohammad Younus, 34, was mentally ill and his brother had brought him from Narowal for his treatment. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.

BODY FOUND: The bullet-riddled body of a young man was found in Surjani town on Sunday. Police said that the deceased was in his mid 30s. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.

He was later identified as Naushad Ali, with the help of some papers, which were found with the body, the police said. A report about his disappearance had been lodged at the Sir Syed police station on Sunday afternoon.

The report stated that Naushad had gone, from his Khawaja Ajmair Nagri residence, for getting his motorcycle repaired in the morning, but failed to return.

3 women held: Three women were arrested under the Hudood Ordinance by the Women Police Station staff late on Saturday night. Acting on a tip-off, SHO Syeda Ghazala detained three women from near the Metropole hotel. An FIR 9/2004 under sections 13/14 and 511 was registered. They were sent to the Artillery Maidan police station on Sunday.
