KARACHI, May 16: In the present era the responsibilities of teachers have increased as the society expects them to equip students with quality education and leading character.

This was stated by the Vice Chancellor of the Karachi University, Pirzada Qasim, while speaking at a dinner hosted in his honour by Arts Department Dean Prof Abuzar Wajdi and senior faculty members at the varsity guest house here on Saturday.

Mr Qasim said that varsities were acknowledged by the teaching, research and educational capabilities of the teachers instead of buildings and equipment. He said that modern facilities were the right of faculties that were being provided gradually.

He said that research papers of varsity teachers should be frequently published in the national and international magazines and journals to enhance the curiosity of students regarding research and knowledge.

The vice chancellor said that the present government had realized the importance of educational development and was eager to facilitate the teachers. -PPI
