ISLAMABAD, May 5: Family members of a rape victim from district Narowal on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration in front of the Parliament House against what they called discriminatory attitude of the police in handling the case.

Talking to this reporter, one of the family members said two months ago, the tragic incident occurred when the victim's house was stormed by the some people, who later took her away.

The 18-year-old victim, a student of 10th class, is the daughter of a local pastor. An application regarding the incident was lodged with the police station concerned but the police instead of listening to the victim's family is allegedly using every possible tactic to wrap up the case.

The accused kept her with them for five days and she was raped by seven different people, whose names have been mentioned in the FIR, a family member alleged. Initially, two accused were arrested by the police, who had been granted bail, however, rest of the culprits were still at large, he said.
