KARACHI, April 28: Pakistan top tennis player Aisam- ul-Haq had avoided playing Davis Cup ties against Taiwan and Thailand on flimsy ground that he was not receiving enough money from Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF)

This was stated on Wednesday by the senior vice-president PTF Khawaja Saeed Hai who criticized Aisam and claimed that money should not be consideration and it not be made an issue when one was playing for the country. "Playing for the country is a biggest honour for anyone", he said.

He claimed that PTF chief Dilawar Abbas had been very generous to Pakistan players and extra generous specially to Aisam. "Don't ask what the country has done for you. But ask what you have done for the country".

Hai who is also chairman PTF selection committee said Davis Cup was world team championship and one should not bring finances as an excuse for not playing. -APP
