TOBA TEK SINGH, April 28: Additional District and Sessions Judge Amjad Pervez dismissed on Wednesday bail plea of a rape accused. Saleem alias Chaman was accused of raping a seven-year-old girl of Gobindpura locality.

According to FIR, Saleem had kidnapped the girl and raped her at a deserted place in Ameerdin Town on March 20 when the victim had gone for shopping. Police arrested Saleem, but declared him innocent.

Later, they held Shahbaz Husain for interrogation. When the applications of Saleem and Shahbaz were presented in court, Shahbaz's counsel informed the court that the police had discharged the actual accused and instead of recording the statements of the police witnesses, the investigation officer recorded the statements of the witnesses produced by Saleem in his defence.

The court questioned the victim, who claimed Saleem was the culprit. The court accepted the bail plea of Shahbaz, but dismissed the one of Saleem.
