KHAIRPUR, April 26: The People's Party Parliamentarians has demanded that the by-election in PS-31 should be held under the supervision of army. Speaking at workers' convention in Karundi town, Faiz Ganj taluka on Sunday night, Sindh PPP president Nisar Khuhro, senior leader MPA Qaim Ali Shah and MNA Manzoor Wassan said that during the last by-election of the an NA seat, three PPP voters were killed.
They demanded that the army should be called to supervise the by- election on May 12 to avoid any bloodshed. They alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) in collusion with the PML(Q) had planned rigging in the election. They said that the coalition government, particularly PML (F) wanted to gain strength in the house through unfair means.
MPA Nawab Wassan, MPA Naeem Kharal, PPP candidate for PS-31 Shaukat Rajpar and others also spoke on the occasion. Meanwhile, Rafique Bhambhan, PML(F) candidate for PS-31, held a meeting at his residence which was attended by MNA Syed Javed Ali Shah, former MPA Basheer Bhambhan and Abdul Majeed Arain.
They said that the seat was won by the PML(F) in the general election and once again it would go to their party in the by- election.
MINISTER: Sindh Health Minister Naeem Ishtiaque has said that a committee is being constituted to probe into the complaints about absence of doctors from government hospitals, but attending private clinics during the government duty timings.
Speaking at a gathering in the circuit house on Monday, he said he had received complaints that specialists doctors did not perform their duties in the government hospitals due to which patients suffered hardship. He took a serious notice of the complaints that in the Civil Hospital tests were conducted against heavy charges.
SUSPENDED: Sindh Food Secretary Mir Mohammad Parhiyar has suspended District Food Controller Lala Anwar Pathan for showing negligence in the procurement of wheat in the district.
