HYDERABAD, April 20: Former speaker of the Sindh Assembly Abdullah Hussain S. Haroon has stressed the need for collective efforts for improving socio-economic conditions of the country.

He was speaking at a reference organized by the Pakistan Study Centre, University of Sindh, in memory of some scholars of Sindh here on Tuesday. Mr Haroon said that education was the sine qua non for the development of the province. He said that they must believe in themselves as without the belief, they could not resolve their problems.

Dr Noor Afroze Khwaja red a paper on Allama I.I. Kazi while Professor Afaq Ahmed Siddiqui and others presented papers on the life and works of Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi. Inam Shaikh and Hameed Sindhi spoke on Ali Ahmed Brohi, Shaikh Mohammad Ismail and Nusrat Hussain Abro. Dr Ateeq Ahmed and Saeed Bux Khalid spoke on the works of Dr Abdul Razzaq Abro and Karim Bux Khalid, respectively.
