PESHAWAR, April 19: Southern districts of the Frontier province will experience power suspension for next two months because of the Chashma nuclear power station which was closed for refuelling on Sunday last, contained an official announcement.

In a press release issued here on Monday, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) said the closure of the station for refuelling had required "load management" for brief sessions daily for two months, affecting the southern districts.

Therefore Pesco's grid stations in the southern districts will experience power suspension for one or two hours every day. The load management plan prepared by Peshawar Electric Supply Company will help it to overcome shortages of 50 megawatt caused by suspension of power to the grid stations of 220kv and 132kv.

Meanwhile, in another press release, Peshawar Electric Supply Company rejected the impression that shops in Shaheen bazaar of the provincial metropolis were gutted because of a fault in its power supply system.

A Peshawar-based spokesman for Peshawar Electric Supply Company said an inquiry committee formed by company's Chief Executive Brig Tahir Saeed Malik had reported that there was no fault in the Pesco's power distribution system in the bazaar.
