KARACHI, April 14: Left-arm paceman Nasir Khan finished with match figures of 11 for 123 as Karachi cruised to a nine-wicket victory over Peshawar in their final Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match of the season at the National Stadium here on Wednesday.

Peshawar, who were forced to follow-on, added only 107 to the overnight second innings score of 145 for one and were dismissed for 252 with Nasir capturing six for 65. Fellow pace bowler Fahad Khan also bowled well, adding three for 60 to his bag of four for 44 in the first innings.

Needing just 66, Karachi lost Shadab Kabir (30) in reaching their target off just 9.3 overs. The visitors, in fact, lost six wickets for 24 runs after reaching 172 for one. Wicket-keeper Ahmed Said (overnight 75) fell to Nasir for 93. Janisar Khan, who helped Ahmed put on 156 for the second wicket, added 16 runs to his Tuesday's contribution of 59 before becoming another of Nasir's victims.

Shoaib Khan, who scored an unbeaten 300 against Quetta in the previous game at Peshawar, bagged a pair when Nasir sent him back for the second time in this match. Hasan Raza, the Karachi captain, held five catches on Wednesday while keeping wickets in place of the former Test wicket-keeper and Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif.

Nasir enjoyed a good first-class season with 62 wickets.
