SHIKARPUR, April 14: Two women and a man were killed on the pretext of Karo-kari in Sindh on Wednesday. A woman was killed by her husband Gul Shan Jeho on the pretext of Karo-kari in Dakhan town, Garhi Yasin taluka. Hazooran, 38, was the mother of five.

The killer surrendered himself before the police after committing the crime. The police registered a case against the accused.

SUKKUR: Another woman was gunned down by her brother-in-law on the pretext of Karo-kari in the Chand Shakh village, Mauladad area of Jacobabad district. Lal Bukhsh with his two accomplices opened fire at his sister-in-law, Rani, wife of Bakhshan Pitafi, killing her on the spot, and fled.

He suspected that she maintained illicit relations with someone. The brother of the victim, Kamal Khan Pitafi, has lodged an FIR with the Mauladad police. However, no arrest was reported till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, a young man fell prey to karo-kari in Waspur mohalla of the Section Police Station jurisdiction, Old Sukkur, on Wednesday. Mohammad Arif, 22, son of Khadim Hussain Palal, was going home when three unknown armed persons chased him and broke into his house. The assailants shot him to death and fled the scene.

Ali Haider was a resident of Bhag Nari, Balochistan, where he had been declared "karo" by his own tribe. He, with his wife and two children, had shifted to here one-and-a-half years back.
