Shadab and Saeed slam centuries

KARACHI, April 11: Shadab Kabir and Saeed bin Nasir scored brilliant centuries to help Karachi beat Peshawar by 15 runs in a high-scoring match of the Quaid-i-Azam One-day Cup at the National Stadium on Sunday.

Shadab, the ex-Test left-hander, smashed 17 fours and two sixes in an unbeaten 152 off 128 balls, while Saeed blasted 129 off 133 balls with the aid of 15 fours and one six.

The pair put on 258 for the third wicket in 229 balls as Karachi amassed 332 for three in their 50 overs after Peshawar won the toss. The visitors put up a brave fight with the top eight batsmen crossing 20-run mark.

The pick of them were opener Janisar Khan made 63 off 90 balls (four fours and one six) and stand-in skipper Aftab Khan who hit 60 off 41 deliveries while striking 11 fours and one six.
