ISLAMABAD, April 9: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said on Friday that the government was committed to strengthening democratic institutions in the country.

He was talking to Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain and PML Chief Whip Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dareshak, MNA, who called on him at the PM House.

He appreciated the performance of parliamentarians who attended the last session of the National Assembly that debated President's address and adopted the National Security Council Bill.

National Assembly speaker informed the prime minister about house committees that are already constituted and about the progress on the remaining ones. Political Assistant to Prime Minister Rana Nazir Ahmad also attended the meeting.

Later, MNAs Akhtar Khan Kanju, Syed Muhammad Asghar Shah and Malik M. Saifullah Khan Tiwana called on the Prime Minister separately. They informed the premier about problems of their respective constituencies. -APP
