PESHAWAR, April 7: NWFP Assembly Speaker Bakht Jahan Khan has convened an assembly session on April 13 to dispose of the agenda submitted by the opposition in the last session.

Mr Khan held a meeting with leaders of opposition parliamentary groups in his chamber on Wednesday to discuss the three-point agenda which could not be tabled during the previous session.

The speaker prorogued the assembly on March 31, after it had remained in session for 24 days. The opposition protested and submitted a requisition on the same day to get its agenda completed.

The speaker discussed the remaining items of the agenda, related to agriculture income tax, recruitment of class-IV employees and kachi abadis, with the opposition leaders.

Opposition leader Shahzada Gustasap Khan, Bashir Bilour of the Awami National Party, Qazi Mohammad Asad and Nighat Orakzai of the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam), Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao and Israrullah Khan Gandapur of the Pakistan People's Party (Sherpao) and Mian Nisar Gul of the Therik-i-Insaf attended the meeting.

NWFP Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Malik Zafar Azam represented the government. Anwar Kamal Khan of the PML (Nawaz) could not attend the meeting.
