SHIKARPUR, May 19: A bandit was arrested and five hostages, who were kidnapped from Shikarpur and Larkana districts some two to four months ago, were recovered from the clutches of the dacoits near the Indus river protective bund in the jurisdiction of Khanpur and Rustam police stations on Sunday morning.
Shikarpur District Police Officer Nadir Hussain Khoso and Larkana DPO Ghulam Nabi Memon said this while speaking at a joint press conference.
On a tip off, the Shikarpur and Larkana police jointly conducted raids on the hideouts of bandits and arrested Ghulam Hyder Panhwar. The police also recovered two Kalashnikovs, four magazines and a huge quantity of ammunition.
On the information provided by the arrested dacoit, the police surrounded the hideouts and recovered Taj Mohammad Bohiro, Abdul Hakeem Lohar, Mohammad Ramzan Pahore, Zulfiqar Rajput and Ayaz Tunio.
The Shikarpur DPO claimed that the arrested dacoit was a member of the dacoits’ gang led by Bago Jatoi, who was wanted for many crimes.
TWO KILLED: A 17-year-old girl, Maarun, and a 19-year-old man, Hazoor Buksh Pahore, were killed by their relatives on the pretext of Karo-kari in Sachlo Pahore village on Saturday night.
The Khanpur police have registered a case, nominating Manthar, Aitabar and Pir Buksh Pahore and two others as accused.
