SAHIWAL, April 6: Three members of a family were killed and two injured in a car accident on Sahiwal-Faisalabad road near Chak 45/GD (Retri) on Tuesday. Police said the family was going to Kot Samba to attend a marriage ceremony.

The car overturned on a sharp turn as a result of which Mrs Sofia Abbas, her children Nadeem, 3, and one-year-old Kalim died on the spot while her aunt Qudsia, 65, and car driver Saghir sustained serious injuries.

ROBBERIES: A man and his son were shot at and injured by highwaymen who took away their motorcycle on Monday night. Police said Ismail and his son Mustafa were riding a motorcycle (SLK-1807) when they were intercepted by robbers.

The robbers signalled them to stop but they tried to speed away. The robbers shot and injured them and took away their motorcycle. In scheme No-2, robbers entered the house of Saryat Benjamin and took away his motorcycle (SLK-9393) and his pump action.

LIQUOR RECOVERED: Fateh Sher police recovered 150 bottles of liquor from a car and arrested four people. Police said Shafiq Masih, Razzaq Masih, Yaqoob Masih and Nasir were carrying 13 crates of bottles alleged for supplying to a Sahiwal club.
