LARKANA, March 31: A raid commissioner appointed by the district and sessions judge on Wednesday recovered three villagers who were illegally detained at the Drigh police station.

Mohammad Hayat Brohi, a resident of the Mohammad Bakhsh Brohi village, had filed an application before the court, alleging that the Kambar TPO, Drigh police station SHO, along with a police force, on March 15 raided his house and arrested Deedar Ali, Ramzan, Manthar and Abdul Karim.

He said when he approached the TPO and the SHO for their release, they demanded illegal gratification. Police did not release the villagers despite orders of the DPO, he added.

The district and sessions judge appointed Mukhtair Ahmad Lanjar for the raid who found the four villagers confined at the police station. ASI Aijaz Massan failed to produce any document showing arrests of the villagers, except Deedar Ali who had been shown arrested in a case.

Ramzan, Manthar and Abdul Karim were released on personal bond. The TPO, SHO and the ASI were directed to appear before the court along with detainee Deedar Ali.
