LAHORE, March 28: The PPP will show a documentary on the life of Mr Bhutto on April 3, which will include maltreatment to the late prime minister during his detention before being hanged, the Punjab president of the party said on Sunday.

Qasim Zia said at a meeting in Shadbagh that the documentary would reveal many things, unknown so far. The PPP has consistently been alleging that Mr Bhutto was tortured during detention. However, those in power at the time have been denying it.

Qasim Zia said the PPP had got evidence to substantiate its allegation and people would see it a day before Mr Bhutto's death anniversary. Information Secretary Naveed Chaudhry said the people had expressed their no-trust in the local government system given by Gen Musharraf. He said it was for this reason that thousands of the seats remained vacant for such a long time.

PPP meeting: A meeting of the PPP's central executive committee will be held at Naudero on April 3 to pay homage to the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was executed on April 4, 1979.

Party's media adviser Iqbal Sialvi said in a statement on Sunday that people would turn up in large numbers in Larkana to participate in the death anniversary of Mr Bhutto. He said caravans from various parts of the country will leave for Larkana on April 2.
