MANSEHRA, Oct 26: District Nazim Azam Khan Swati has said that every union council of the district will receive Rs800,000 as initial grant for development schemes from the Khushal Pakistan Programme.

Speaking at an open Kutchery here on Thursday, he announced a grant of Rs4 million to establish offices for the Nazim of Balakot Tehsil.

He said that due to the rampant corruption by elected members in the past, the Mansehra district lagged far behind other areas in development. “I assure you that now the people will have the basic necessities of life at their doorsteps,” he said.

He expressed concern at the condition of schools and health centres in the area.
