PESHAWAR, March 5: Activists of the Imamia Students Organization (ISO) held a protest rally here on Friday to condemn the Quetta incident in which 45 people were killed and over 160 injured on Tuesday.

The rally began from the Governor's House and marched towards the press club, where a protest meeting was held. The protesters, carrying banners and placards, blocked Sher Shah Soori Road in front of the press club and burnt tyres.

They also chanted slogans against the United States and Israel and held them responsible for the massacres in Quetta and Iraq. Speaking on the occasion, the divisional president of the ISO, Iqtedarul Hassan, said the US and its agents were hatching conspiracy to promote sectarianism to prolong their forces' stay in the region.

He said that the agents of the US and Israel wanted to desecrate the sanctity of holy places in Iraq and killed innocent people in Quetta on Ashura.
