HYDERABAD, March 3: Ashura was observed with traditional reverence and in a peaceful manner under extensive security measures throughout Sindh on Tuesday. In Hyderabad, mourning processions with Zuljinnahs and Tazias were taken out from different imambargahs of the City, Latifabad and Qasimabad talukas.

District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman, the taluka Nazims and senior police officers accompanied the main procession from Qadamgah-i-Maula Ali to Karbala Dadan Shah,

NAWABSHAH: Matam on embers was performed at Hussainiya Sajjadiya Imam Bargah, Linepar, on Ashura night and two large processions were taken out here.

The participants raised slogans against the USA and demanded the release of Allama Sajid Naqvi. A large number of policemen and rangers were deployed in the city to avoid any untoward incident.

DADU: To observe Youm-i-Ashur, several Zuljinnah processions were taken out in Dadu, Kotri, Sehwan, Johi, Thana Bula Khan, Mehar and Khairpur Nathan Shah.

KHAIRPUR: Youm-i-Ashur was observed under strict security measures in the Khairpur as army, police and rangers accompanied the mourning processions.

In Gambat, mourners staged a three-hour-long sit-in on Khuhra- Gambat road to condemn objectionable chalking inscribed on the town tower.

On Wednesday, a large number of mourners staged another sit- in at Bungalow-Kot Diji roundabout for one hour as a result the vehicular traffic remained suspended. They were protesting against the firing on a mourning procession in Quetta. A strike was also observed in Kot Diji and Kot Bungalow.

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Youm-i-Ashur was observed in the district with devotion and respect as mourners took out processions from Bhut Mohalla, Khoso village, Kaka Shah Makan and Manganhar Mohalla, which merged into main procession.

SHIKARPUR: To commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, Youm-i-Ashur was observed in Shikarpur in peaceful manner.

MIRPURKHAS: Ashura was observed with reverence and religious solemnity here on Tuesday. The main procession was taken out from Khari quarter and culminated at Imambargah Makhan Shah.

JACOBABAD: The Yaum-i-Ashur was observed with reverence and religious solemnity in the district.
