ISLAMABAD Feb 27: The Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) government crisis further deepened on Friday when a parliamentary secretary in the AJK Legislative Assembly (AJKLA) resigned in protest against the 'attitude' of Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat, sources said.

With the resignation of the parliamentary secretary, Mir Ali Akbar, the number of resignations submitted to Sardar Abdul Qayyum rose to five. Two ministers had handed over their resignations on Wednesday, followed by State Minister for Finance Shah Ghulam Qadir and Ulema Mashaikh Council Chairman Shaukat Ali Shah on Thursday.

MEETING: The AJK prime minister went to the residence of the party's supreme leader, Sardar Abdul Qayyum, in Rawalpindi on Friday in an attempt to resolve their differences.

Sardar Qayyum advised the premier to settle the differences with his (Qayyum's) son and party president, Sardar Ateeq Ahmed, who, some sources claimed, was eying the office of the prime minister.
