SRINAGAR, Feb 27: The chief minister of held Kashmir, Mufti Mohammad Syed, escaped unhurt on Friday when suspected guerillas fired two grenades at a public meeting he was attending, a witness said.
A policeman and a civilian were wounded in the attack in Beeru area, west of state capital Srinagar, witness Nazir Ahmed said. Police guarding the meeting returned fire, he said. -Reuters
