KARACHI: Two commit suicide

KARACHI, Feb 25: Two persons committed suicide in different parts of the city on Wednesday. Police said that Kamran Zafar, 40, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan inside his house in Paposhnagar, Nazimabad. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy examination. Police said that the victim was jobless.

In Orangi Town, a young woman committed suicide on Wednesday. Police said that Hina Rafiq, 18, in a fit of depression hanged herself from the ceiling fan in her house. However, police could not ascertain the cause behind her suicide.

KILLED: A woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Pirabad on Wednesday. Police said that Shagufta, 21, was found dead in her house in Frontier Colony. The victim's body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

Quoting the statement of her father, police said that she was strangulated to death by her husband Umar Din. Police were looking for Umar Din who had escaped following the murder.
