BAHAWALPUR, Feb 24: As even the inventory of articles at Sadiqgarh palace has not yet been finalized, it is unlikely that the committee entrusted the task of distribution of Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammed Khan Abbasi's property among his heirs will be able to complete its work by Feb 26 - the date set by Prime Minister Mir Zafrullah Khan Jamali for the purpose.

Sources said the prime minister had set the deadline for the committee headed by Justice Abdul Salam Shakoor (Retired) about two months ago, but replacement of Justice Shakoor by Justice Qadeer Ahmed Chaudhry delayed the matter.

At a meeting in the local circuit house on Feb 10, the implementation committee constituted a sub-committee to accomplish the task. However, it is unlikely that property distribution will be completed by Feb 26. Neither an inventory has yet been finalized nor a date fixed for the auction.

Moreover, nothing has so far been decided about distribution of the late Nawab's urban and rural property worth millions of rupees. The property distribution sub-committee headed by EDO (Revenue) Abdul Ghafoor Bhatti is also considering a proposal of the heirs of Nawab that the Rolls Royce company should be contacted for selling Nawab's five cars as antiques.

The sub-committee will have to submit the proposal to Justice Qadeer for a final decision in this regard.
