ISLAMABAD, Feb 23: Two persons were killed and three journalists were critically injured in two seperate road accidents on Monday evening, police said.

Tariq Hashmi, Zakir Hussain and Javaid Judoon were on their way to Abbotabad when they met with the accident. The three were injured when the taxi they were travelling in collided with a bus at Peshawar Mor. The taxi driver died on the spot.

The injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital where they are said to be in critical condition, a doctor said. In another incident, a man died while another sustained injuries in a road accident on Monday.

Police said Faizul Hassan was going to the airport in his car (IDC-3504) driven by Mohammad Ayub when the vehicle overturned on the Islamabad Highway due to over speeding. Mr Ayub died before reaching hospital while Mr Hassan was stated to be in a critical condition.
