HYDERABAD, Feb 18: The Government Secondary Teachers' Association has decided to boycott ensuing class-IX and class-X examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad.

It also resolved that it would not allow conduct of examinations in any secondary school. The decisions were taken at a meeting of the Board Coordination Committee of the GSTA held here on Wednesday which was presided over by Zamir Khan.

The GSTA presidents and general secretaries from eight districts of defunct Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions and Nawabshah district, under jurisdiction of the Hyderabad BISE, attended the meeting.

The meeting observed that talks between the GSTA and BISE chairman had failed and the latter had authorised the education EDOs to issue duty orders to teachers which was not acceptable to the association.

The meeting recalled that remuneration had not been paid to the teachers in the past when the duty orders had been issued by the EDOs. Meanwhile, secondary school teachers of the City and Latifabad talukas, on the GSTA call, observed a protest day here on Wednesday by hoisting black flags on school buildings and wearing black arm-bands.

They were demanding restoration of teachers' employment quota, award of selection grade, additional increments and move-over etc.

LLB ADMISSION: Interviews and tests for admission to LLB part-I in the Government College, Hyderabad, will be held from Feb 23 to 26 between 6-7pm. Announcing this here on Wednesday, the college principal said that the tests/interviews would be held according to the lists pasted at the college notice board.
