Shoaib puts Peshawar in control

LAHORE,Feb 17: A fine century by Shoaib Khan and equally good batting by Ahmed Said helped Peshawar earn a 57-runlead on the first innings against Lahore in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy at Sheikhupura Stadium on Tuesday.

Peshawar, who were in trouble at 50 for four on resumption, recovered through Shoaib's 116 off 190 balls and wicket-keeper Ahmed's 85 to reach 293 for seven on the second day in reply to Lahore's 236.

Left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Khalil celebrated his call-up to the national camp with figures of four for 86 while fellow pacer Wasim Khan had three for 54.
