DADU, Feb 17: The Regional Police Officer, Hyderabad, here on Tuesday said Khairpur Nathan Shah SHO sub-inspector Abdullah Buriro and Thariri Mohabbat SHO sub-inspector Manzoor Ahmad Chandio had been suspended for being in league with criminals.

The RPO, Ghulam Mohammad Malkani, was talking to journalists at the DPO, investigation, office. Answering a question, he said Kotri SP Mazhar Shaikh had been appointed as the investigation officer in the murder case of villager Khadim Janwari, who was killed by policemen near the Radhan town.

He said three of the five police officials nominated in the case had been arrested and they would be dismissed after completion of inquiry. He said gangs of bandits Dodo Jiskani and Gul Hassan Junejo were involved in kidnapping incidents in Mahar and Khairpur Nathan Shah talukas.

Mr Malkani said action would be taken against corrupt police officials and operation would continue against bandits in kutcha and hilly areas. He said a police official who killed Dodo Jiskani or a person who provided the police with information about him would be given Rs300,000 from police funds.

The RPO said the Sindh government had not released head money of bandits Gulab Jiskani, Ali Barnani and Yousuf Mari who were killed by the police in encounters in 2003. Later, the RPO held an open kutchehry.
