HYDERABAD, Feb 12: People's Party Parliamentarians MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur has demanded that the nuclear proliferation issue should be discussed in the National Assembly to bring true facts before the nation.

In a statement faxed to Dawn on Thursday, he stressed the need for developing a national consensus to extricate the country from serious crisis adding that after the surrender of East Pakistan, the remaining Pakistan was passing through worst crisis.

He warned that if the rulers failed to gauge the magnitude of crisis, Pakistan was likely to suffer an irreparable loss. He claimed Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan had been made a scapegoat in order to protect the real people who were responsible for the transfer of nuclear technology.

He said Z. A. Bhutto was the real architect of atomic programme but former rulers had tried to distort historical facts. He said those people who were wanted by the NAB had become ministers and the government was not ready to tolerate opposition.
