ISLAMABAD, Feb 9: Traders Action Committee Islamabad (TACI) has warned the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration of flour crisis in the coming weeks if the local flour mills did not get their wheat quota.

Talking to Dawn here on Monday, the TACI press secretary, Khalid Mehmood Chaudhry, said the committee had already conveyed its concerns to the ICT chief commissioner, Jonaid Iqbal, but to no avail.

He said, at present, as many as 38 flour mills located in the capital limits were getting wheat only enough for three hours grinding, as a result flour crisis was imminent at least in Islamabad in the next couple of weeks.

"Therefore, we strongly demand of the ICT administration to restore full wheat quota of the local flour mills so that the crisis could be averted," he said. He said, over the last 40 years, wheat quota for flour mills in ICT and Rawalpindi district was the same.
