LAHORE: JAC moot postponed

Published February 7, 2004

LAHORE, Feb 6: Lawyers' joint action committee has deferred a representative national conference because of lawyers' engagement in election of the Lahore High Court Bar Association scheduled to be held on Feb 28.

The conference was to be held in Lahore on Feb 12 to discuss the future course of action in seeking withdrawal of the 17th Amendment to the constitution.

The establishment of a democratic order and prevention of a military take over in future were some other items on conference's agenda decided by the JAC in December. A new date for the conference is yet to be decided.
