KARACHI: Section 144 imposed

KARACHI, Jan 28: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has imposed section 144 to stop land-grabbers from encroaching lands possessed by the City District Government Karachi (CDGK).

The CDGK has also allowed establishment of cattle markets on six different places in the city on a temporary basis on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. The places are: Hub River Road near Wilayat Ali Shah Shrine, Baldia Town, Main Super Highway, Scheme No 33, Shah Abdul Latif Town, Sector 22, Bin Qasim Town, Bakra Mandi, Malir Town, Khurramabad Ground near Mehran Highway, Landhi, and Main Mangopir Road, Site Town.

The ban on establishing cattle markets in parts of the city other than those designated has also been extended for seven days. Section 144 forbidding collection of hides, setting up of camps/tents, announcements on loudspeakers for hides collection, and all sorts of advertisement in this respect through chalking, banners and handbills has also been imposed. -PPI
