KARACHI: SESSI disburses Rs1.9m

KARACHI, Jan 28: The Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) disbursed a total of Rs1.925 million as cash benefit to the secured workers and their dependents in November 2003.

This was disclosed by SESSI Contribution and Benefits Director Muhammad Hussain in a meeting, chaired by SESSI Commissioner Nasar Hayat. Muhammad Hussain said that the disbursement included Rs0.549 million paid as sick benefit followed by Rs0.258 million as injury benefit, RsO.117 million as survivor's pension, Rs37,000 as maternity benefit and Rs24,000 as death grant/ iddat benefit.

A further amount of Rs30,000 was paid to workers as ex-gratia, he added. "A sum of Rs57.396 million was allocated as social security benefit from 15,223 registered establishments employing 0.264 million registered workers during November," the Sindh Employees Social Security Institution official said. -PPI
