HYDERABAD, Jan 25: Sindh Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Naeem Ishtiaq, also a member of the district development committee, presided over a meeting of the development committee at the circuit house here on Saturday.

The meeting reviewed work on ongoing development schemes. Speaking on the occasion, the minister expressed concern over the delay in the implementation of development schemes from MPAs' funds.

He said Rs5 million development schemes, recommended by him, should be completed in the stipulated period. The DCO and other officers of the district government were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, the DCO directed Hyderabad Development Authority officers to submit a progress report of development schemes of 2002-3 in three days. At a meeting held at his office here, DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed also directed the officers to furnish a component-wise list of ongoing works so that problems being experienced by the executing authority could be resolved.

He said the completion of the schemes would not only beautify the city but also improve civic facilities. The meeting also discussed the progress of the Hyderabad Greater Sewerage Project works. The director-general and other officers of the HDA attended the meeting.
