KARACHI: Karachi hit by thunderstorm

KARACHI, Jan 22: A thunderstorm lashed the city and its adjoining areas on Thursday morning for about one-and-a-half hour, affecting the city life as the roads at streets were flooded with rainwater, causing traffic jams.

The Met office said that the city received an average of 3.0 milli meter rain from 6am to 7.30am in the morning.

North Karachi received 2.2 mm rain, Masroor Air Base, 1.0 mm, areas locating at Sharea Faisal, 2.0 mm, Karachi Airport areas, 4.2 mm, Pak-Quarters, 3.2 mm and Meteorological Department, University Road areas received 2.8 mm rain. The Met office has forecast further rains. -PPI
