KARACHI: Debate competition

KARACHI, Jan 20: The Mama Parsi Girls' School and the Habib Girls' School secured first prizes of English and Urdu declamation contests respectively, organized by the Habib Public School.

As many as 33 teams, including five from outside Karachi, participated in the 13th All Pakistan Invitation Inter School Bilingual Declamation Contests. The championship of both the competitions was also won by the Mama Parsi Girls' School. Results of the two declamations contests are as follows:

English: First, Shajia Sarfraz of Mama Parsi Girls' School; second, Anam Pal of St Joseph's Convent School; third, Elya Lalji of Habib Girls' School. The consolation prize went to Sughra Shah of the Bahria College.

Urdu: First, Mehr Zehra Zaidi of Habib Girls' School; second, Anam Nadia Rehman of Mama Parsi Girls' School; third, Hira Ahsan of Bahria College. The consolation prize was given to Areeba Arif of Hamdard Public School.
