KHAIRPUR, Jan 20: The growers of Bozdar Wada and Mat continued their protest demonstrations for the second day here on Tuesday against Tapedars (revenue officials) of their areas.

The protestors told reporters that the Tapedars were demanding additional taxes other than the land revenue. The growers of Tapo Ghariri also staged protest demonstration against the tapedar of the area, near Pir-jo-Goth on Monday evening.

SUICIDE: Jhando, 24, committed suicide by taking poison in village Mithan Jogi on Monday night. His mother had refused to give him share from his father's land upon which he took the extreme step.

CHECK POST ATTACKED: Some dacoits attacked Talo Bhando police check post and injured Constable Abdul Latif Kanhar on Monday night. The injured was admitted to Sukkur civil hospital and was stated to be in stable condition.

Ahmedpur police have registered a case against Ali Dino alias Kaleri Maitlo, Deeno Mari, Mukhtiar Maitlo, Barkat Mari, Hakim Maitlo and seven others. The police have also arrested 10 people of Maitlo and Mari tribesmen.

MAN KILLED: A motorcycle knocked down Jadil Wassan, 60, on the National Highway near Ranipur on Monday. The man died before he could be provided with medical aid. The motorcyclist, Niaz Hussain Solangi, was also injured and admitted to a hospital.

ENMITY: Roshan Korai of village Punhal Korai, Gambat taluka, lodged an FIR with Landhiyoon police station against eight people of his fellow tribe for allegedly killing his brother, Hadi Bux Korai, on Tuesday owing to an old enmity.
