LAHORE, Jan 19: PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of the diversion of a couple of planes to prevent various opposition legislators from participating in the joint session of parliament addressed by Gen Musharraf.

According to a press release, he said the court should get a case of hijacking, terrorism and unlawful confinement of legislators and passengers registered against those responsible for endangering the lives of hundreds of PIA passengers.

Shahbaz phoned party's vice-president Begum Tehmina Daultana on Monday and expressed concern on what she had to experience on the day the joint session of parliament was held. He asked her to come to London for consultations and to participate in a public meeting he is going to address on Jan 24. Ms Tehmina, advised complete bed rest by her doctors, is planning to leave for London on Jan 22.
