LAHORE, Jan 19: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi ordered suspension from service of senior police officials of Khairpur Tamewali and Bahawalpur, and issued a warning to the Bahawalpur DPO for irregularities, says a report of the cell released here on Monday.

The CM, taking notice of a report submitted by the special monitoring cell in-charge Nawaz Malik, warned Bahawalpur SSP Sikandar Hayat to run the department affairs in a way that could rid the people of police highhandedness and not the vice versa.

He also ordered suspension of Khairpur Tamewali SDPO, the SHO, a sub-inspector, an assistant sub-inspector and moharrar of the police station for detaining five people illegally, the report added.
