HYDERABAD, Jan 11: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit, on Saturday issued notices to three police officials, additional advocate- general and others on a constitutional petition, filed by Mohammad Umar, alleging police harassment.

The officials against whom the notices were issued are the personal assistant to DPO Aijaz Samo, inspector, anti-corruption, Karim Bux, Phuleli TPO and Pinyari SHO.

The petitioner, represented by Amjad Sehto advocate, said he had purchased three plots in situated in commercial area of Deh Gujjo from Waqar Mohammad Shaikh and the agreement was executed between them.

He said Mr Sheikh had also executed an irrevocable general power of attorney on Oct 24, 2003 in petitioner's name due to a ban on registration and transfer of properties.

He alleged that the respondent Ejaz Samoo, Karim Bux, Azam Rajput and Sarfraz Baig belonged to group of land grabbers and were taking an undue advantage of their official position to usurp the land.

He stated respondents were pressurizing him to sell the plots to them on cheap rates and in this regard, they were taking help from the TPO and the SHO.He said after he refused to sell plots, the respondents started harassing him and his brother, Mohammad Farooque, who was also called at the Pinyari police station and detained for six hours.

He said he had been threatened with implication in false cases and added he was called at the police station. He prayed the court to direct respondent police officials not to harass him and his brother and direct them to submit list of cases, if any, pending against him before the court.
