GUJRANWALA, Jan 9: The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) severed connections of some half a dozen furnaces for excessive use of electricity and for not clearing their outstanding dues despite the deadline here on Friday.

Owners of these furnaces were found using extra power supply without regularizing it, while they also failed to meet the deadline for clearing their dues.

The names of furnaces are: Ghafoor Furnace, Ghulam Rasool Furnace, Malik Saleem Furnace, Ayub Furnace, New Sangum Furnace and Zahoor Furnace.
