PESHAWAR: PTV nominations

PESHAWAR, Jan 9: PTV Peshawar Centre will compete for 24 awards in the national PTV Awards ceremony scheduled to be held on Jan 11 in Islamabad, said a press release here on Friday.

A 29-member team of the Peshawar Centre along with General Manager Farmanullah Jan will leave for Islamabad on Jan 10. The nominations for the awards are: Abdul Qayyum Hoti, best producer (general magazine); Shaukat Ali, best producer (shows); Aziz Ijaz, best producer (drama series); Hifzul Haq Kakakhel, best producer (religious programme); Jamil Raza, best producer (sports); Arifur Rehman (news producer) and Jehanzeb Khan, best producer (current affairs).

In addition, Sikandar Hayat, Riaz Ahmed Awan, Mohammad Tariq, Afraz Ali Syed, Mumtaz Ali Khan, Abdul Qayyum, Shah Jehan and Naeem Akhtar have been nominated for technical awards.

Among the artistes, the nominations included Ismail Shahid, Najibullah Anjum, Nisha Khan and Sarwat Ali. Haroon Bacha (singer), Sabz Ali Khan (musician), Ali Raza (newscaster, Urdu), Adnan Sarwar Khan (compere) and Mohammad Humayun Huma (drama writer) have also been nominated for the awards. Jamshed Ali Khan, Ayesha Gulalai and Mashooq Sultan will represent Peshawar Centre as host.
