Eight die in accident

VEHARI, Jan 7: At least eight people, including six members of a family, were killed in an accident on Wednesday on the Multan-Vehari road near Tibba Sultanpur, some 45km from here.

Local landowner Abdul Nasir Khichi was going to his village Shatab Garh Mailsi from here with his family on a Suzuki van (SGG-5600) to attend a marriage when it hit an oil tanker (DIC-01727) near Tibba Sultanpur, Shabbir Shah stop.

Mr Khichi, his wife, two daughters, two sons a servant and a passerby cyclist died. The oil tanker driver fled. A witness said the van went out of control and hit the oil tanker coming from the opposite direction as its tie-rode broke.
