LANDI KOTAL, Jan 7: Dozens of tribal students staged a protest demonstration at the Political Agent office, Khyber Agency, on Wednesday morning.

The protesting students were demanding recreation funds from the political authorities. Hailing from Bara and Jamrud sub-divisions, most of these students were studying at the Government Science Superior College, Peshawar.

Political authorities, after being failed to pacify the protesting students, deployed additional Khasadar force at the gates of the Khyber House. Khyber Agency Political Agent Arbab Mohammad Arif urged the students not to use pressure tactics and instead approach his office to resolve the problem. The protesting students later dispersed after an assurance by Bara elders for arranging study tour funds for them.
