THATTA, Jan 4: Two picnickers were killed and three critically injured after their car collided with a truck on the National Highway near here on Sunday.

Nadir Shah, son of Nazar Shah, and Hussain, son of Sadaruddin, residents of Karachi, were heading towards Keenjhar Lake in their car with friends when the incident occurred as a result both died on the spot. Shamsuddin, Irfan and Saleem, who sustained critical injuries, were rushed to Karachi after receiving first aid at the Makli Civil Hospital.

TREASON CASE: People's Party Parliamentarian MPAs Sassui Palijo and Humera Alwani and other party leaders, through a press release issued here on Sunday, expressed concern on implicating Awami Tehrik activists and an academician in a sedition case.

They said that raising voice for legitimate rights was not a crime and added that the Thatta administration had exaggerated the facts to please its masters and implicated the innocent persons in a serious case. They demanded that an impartial inquiry should be held into the matter.
