India crush West Indies

LUCKNOW, Jan 2: Paceman Harvinder Singh took a five-wicket haul as India bowled out West Indies for a paltry 55 to register a 228 runs victory in the 1st Under-19 Commonwealth cricket championship league.

Set target of 284 to win, visitors could not sustain fiery spell of Singh, who finished with five for 17 in 10 overs. Earlier, sent into bat, India scored 283 for four thanks to a 102-ball 92 by their skipper Vikram Dhariwal.

Dhariwal's knock contained 10 hits to fence and was well supported by Narendra and Vipin Kumar, who chipped with little cameos of 44 and 39 respectively.

Both Dhariwal and Harvinder were adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for their fine performance. With today's win India now has six points. -PPI
